Water Shortages in Arizona

I think it is fair to say that Arizona is one of the most beautiful places in the world, boasting some of the most stunning landscapes in the United States.  We might be a little biased, since our entire ownership is born and raised in Arizona.

Despite its beauty, Arizona has battled an increasing threat that seems to continue intensifying, water shortage and scarcity. With the Colorado River supplying water to more than 40 million people across the southwest region, including Arizona, the last 20+ years  have been the driest in 1,200 years. At least six cities in our state have already  declared water shortages and are developing plans on how we can conserve water. source:https://earth.org/arizona-water-shortage/

How Can Crown & Blade Turf Help Arizona With This Water Crisis? The Answer….Artificial Turf.

Installing artificial turf at your Arizona home, deems watering your lawn to be no longer a necessity. Making the change makes you a water shortage hero, saving Arizona’s precious resource. In fact, research has pointed out that for every square foot of grass you replace with artificial turf, you are saving 55 gallons of water per year.  So if you have a 1500 square foot yard, you’ll save 82,500 gallons of water. This would be 82,500 gallons of water that Arizona needs.

Do You Want To Be Part Of The Solution (BE A HERO)

The Crown & Blade Turf team is owned and operated by native Arizonans who take pride in beautifying the state’s neighborhoods, helping save water for the future, and actively participating in the community.

We spent time and energy investigating which artificial turf would be the best designed for the weather in Arizona.  The result: we developed our own custom proprietary artificial turf.  We will not only make your yard more beautiful, it will help save hundreds of thousands of gallons of water for Arizona.

No Watering: Conserve Water, Conserve the Environment

Water scarcity is an ever-growing concern in today’s world. Traditional lawns require significant amounts of water to maintain their vibrant appearance, especially in regions with dry climates. However, synthetic grass eliminates the need for regular watering altogether. By installing turf, you can save an impressive 40 gallons of water per square foot, per year. This not only reduces your water bill but also helps alleviate the strain on local water supplies. Embracing turf is a conscious step towards responsible water consumption and environmental preservation.

No Maintenance: Free Up Your Time and Enjoy a Pristine Lawn

Maintaining a natural lawn can be an arduous task. It demands regular mowing, edging, fertilizing, and dealing with weeds and pests. This maintenance routine requires both time and effort, which could be better spent on activities you enjoy. Synthetic grass eliminates the need for constant upkeep. No more mowing or tedious weeding sessions. Once installed, turf remains consistently vibrant and perfectly manicured. Say goodbye to time-consuming lawn care and hello to a stress-free and always beautiful yard.

Reduce Allergies: Create an Allergy-Friendly Outdoor Environment

For individuals who suffer from allergies, spending time outdoors can be a source of discomfort and frustration. The lushness of natural grass can trap pollen, dust, and other allergens, triggering unpleasant reactions. Synthetic grass, on the other hand, is made from hypoallergenic materials that do not harbor pollen or dust. By installing turf, you create an allergy-friendly outdoor space, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of nature without the sneezing, itching, and congestion.

Go green, choose Crown & Blade Turf

Installing turf in your yard offers numerous advantages that make it an appealing alternative to natural grass. By opting for synthetic grass, you can significantly reduce your water consumption, save time and effort on maintenance, and create an allergy-free outdoor environment. The benefits of turf go beyond aesthetics; they contribute to water conservation efforts, promote sustainable living, and enhance the overall quality of life for you and your family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Artificial Grass Hold Up in the Fall?

It holds up remarkably well. Artificial grass is designed to endure the changing temperatures and weather conditions of fall, making it an excellent choice to curb fall lawn maintenance. It is also manufactured to resist mold and mildew, which are more likely to thrive during wetter months.

What About the Winter?

Yes, artificial turf also holds up well in the winter. Artificial grass can withstand colder temperatures and functions effectively during the winter months. It won’t turn brown or die, unlike natural grass. There’s also no need to worry about muddy boots or paws when you have artificial turf.

What Makes It Artificial?

Artificial turf is made of either polyethylene, polypropylene, or nylon. We offer three types of turf: artificial turf, putting green, and pet-friendly turf. Our turfs are manufactured through a multi-step process, which you can read more about in our learning center. Although Central Arizona generally does not get snow, artificial turf is completely snow-resistant, eliminating the need for shoveling.

What Makes Artificial Grass a Good Choice for Year-round Use?

Artificial grass is an excellent option for year-round use. Made from durable materials, it can endure extreme temperatures and heavy rainfall—perfect for Arizona’s hot climate and monsoon season. Artificial turf that has been installed correctly should last as long as 20 years.
